ROV Build Workshop Overview/Breakdown consists of the following:
- Review team goals and let them choose their roles base on the task they like to try and emphasize safety first on all steps
- Show kids how to read simple blueprint and follow the diagram to assist in building ROV frame.
- This includes how to handle certain tools such as soldering gun, glue gun, wire stripper and drill.
- Learn about how buoyancy works and proper flotation placement to level robot frame.
- Learn how to strip wires for motor connection, assemble and attach to control box.
- Learn about simple switches and how it function on the PCB control board electronics.
- Learn about how the flow of positive and negative electricity affects motor spinning direction.
- Learn about and use two common industrial soldering methods and heat shrink tubing.
- Build a company/group’s marketing billboard to present the robot to an audience(parents/teachers).
